Website History
Where it all began...
I started off web-design at a younger age, my friends from school would allways go on about how cool this new site was Piczo.com so I wanted to try it out for myself and created my very own first website for me and my friends. I then, looking around people's friends sites, found graphic contented websites and decided I'd try one of those and made my first website beautiful-disaster. I then kept that and renamed it slightly to JJED- which was easier for people to remember. After having my website for so long, Tasha my first host came across my site and offered to host me. Once I had understood what it meant I was thrilled! and of course said yes to her offer.
My first sub-domain was called wakeforfashion.secretkiss.org, and I loved having a sub-domain. At first getting to use FTP and understanding all the codes was pretty hard, but then after I got used to it I became a better web-designer and earned more comments & hits. After a while wakeforfashion's host had some problems and the site went down, loosing everything. All my hard work, and nothing to show for it. After that I had no plans of getting another website because I was so upset, but after a long break away from it all I began to miss it, and then one day I recieved a message off Amanda offering me a domain, again I was so happy and after a while I got it, Flashice.info. It was my first ever domain website and I found it really fun to be able to host other people
and give them the opportunities in web design that I got. When it came to re-newing Flashice I decided against it, as at that time in my life I was going through difficulties and of course, my GCSE's. A year later I realised I wanted to come back and here I am again, with Influence. This time I hope to stick at it minus the GCSE stress and servers breaking, fingers crossed to the future of Influence!
Summary
Influence was created after I searched for a suitable host. Zoe from innocentsky.com kindly accepted my request to become hosted and on the 8th of November 2009, Influence was officaly opened.
The future of Flashice
Nobody can really know what's going to happen in the future but I hope my web-design skills can take me somewhere and gain me something. As far as the site is concerned I plan to go nowhere soon, and only become better and bigger in the running. I hope that sometime in the future I can get Influence one of the bigger sites, like Justframeless and Swimchick. That is what I aim for and hopefully will achieve sometime in the near future. I also hope to gain friendship, skills and graphic education which will help me in my own future. Let's see what the future brings for this website.
Behind the name
I decided on the name Influence really quickly to be honest. The insperation came from one of my favorite singers, P!nk
and a new single of hers from her new album called Bad Influence, hense the name influence. More specificaly, I came up with the name
after being at her concert in late 2009.
Influence- causing something without any direct or apparent effort
Innocent- free from sin
Sky- the atmosphere and outer space as viewed from the earth
